Dance, Dance.

I decided to do something different. Something very out of my comfort zone. I can’t say that I didn’t hate it. Because the point of doing so was to break the mold. Do something different. And of course, this was my fitness challenge for the week. Attending Zumba, a dance class that incorporates several genre’s, was the challenge of choice. Why? I’m body conscious.
Because I wanted to prove a few things. First, I’m capable of doing anything and two, I think it’s important to get outside my comfort zone. Once I got over the “shit, I’m going to look like an idiot” I really started to enjoy myself. The “I’m not doing it right” thoughts popped into my head every now and then. However, there were several other ladies, including two younger girls (maybe my age?) who weren’t the best either.
To top it off, I’m going to another class tomorrow. Challenge? Conquered.

Wait wait. The Challenge starts Monday, right? That’s weird. That’s what it says online my latest “Self” doesn’t have the Challenge workout in it! RAWR! I don’t get it.
@Mel,
In the February issue of “Self” magazine, there’s an article about a ten or so day countdown leading up to the program, and saying you can start as early as February 9. Yes, February 9 is next Monday- but I’m assuming you can get all the info on the site. Why they did it this way, I don’t know. I’m very much of a planner. I can’t really “plan” for a day where I don’t know the program.
