No Excuses.

03Apr08
I have a new motto. It’s not “be fierce” even though I do think that if I’m on the treadmill running. But, I decided to give myself a reality check last night before I went to bed. Telling myself that not eating breakfast is a crappy excuse, and that there should be zero excuses for anything. Hence, “no excuses”. This will be difficult as I have an excuse for why I didn’t work out (”I was tired”) or didn’t eat as healthy as I could (”I didn’t have the right foods”).

To avoid the “I didn’t have the right foods” I swung by the market this morning to try and pre-prepare as much as I could. Picked up some fresh strawberries and some other kind of berry to make delicious smoothies with. There’s a recipe in “Self” that I want to try. Also, to avoid “I was tired”, I’m going to try (and it won’t always work) to take a thirty minute nap in the afternoon. If I can’t do that, well then to be in bed before midnight.

Remember, there’s always an excuse… but don’t give one.

    Smoothies are so yummy and you really don’t even need a recipe. I just generally follow this guideline:

    start with about 1/2 cup liquid, like some kind of juice
    throw in a few handfuls of fruit
    add in a few scoops of yogurt

    Blend! Adjust as you like.

    @Janet,

    One of my favorite snacks is a yogurt parfait. I talk about them a lot. I like them because they are easy to make, and I can also get one at Starbucks. I picked one up today, brought it to work to have, and totally forgot about it! Hopefully it’ll remain good until Thursday (when I work next).
