Exposed.

It bothers me a lot when people (people, as a general statement) comment towards skinny girls about their weight. Why do they think we’ve got some secret trick into staying thin? Why are we, the skinny chicks– constantly being urged to eat more as if we starve ourselves? Some starve themselves, some simply do not eat, but to even suggest it could be hinting at something that doesn’t exist. Because what if that girl you comment upon that she needs to gain some weight is terrified of gaining weight, and suffering from an Eating Disorder? You can’t imagine the damage you have done. Without knowing it, you’ve sent her into a downward spiral, not only bringing down her emotional state of mind but everything that’s attached to it. It’s not okay to judge upon a skinny girl because she’s thinner than you are.

  1. It’s not okay to judge the ones who do not have an eating disorder as well. It does maybe no where near as much psychological damage, but it does enough. I have always been and always will be really under weight. I’m 5′6″ and weigh 110lbs. All through high school I was a little under 100lbs. I have had people who refuse to talk to me because they think I might have a disorder. I have had pepole outright ask me, and then laugh at my answer. Hardly anyone believes me until they get to know me. I get enough stares from people to know what they are thinking. Sometimes I want to shout out to them, “There’s nothing wrong with me! I’m just naturally skinny!” This used to really bother me but then I realized…

People are just jealous. F-them. Love yourself for who you are!!!

  2. @Kimmie,
Eating Disorders are touchy subjects in general. It’s not an everyday sort of conversation that you casually have with complete strangers. Obviously, you’d want to try and defend yourself in some way, but the more you say the more it could hurt what they see for themselves. It’s not always the truth.
